Theory/Story: Backstory Part 2

Before reading this post, make sure to read Part 1, or else this will make no sense.

OK, let’s return to our Poptropican…

Octavian sure was acting weird, but you still use his map anyway. The first island you land on is Early Poptropica, and then Shark Tooth. Nothing too interesting happened. Then came Time Tangled Island, the island that changed everything. After getting that island’s medallion, you thought you fixed the past and saved the future, but you were wrong. Only, you didn’t find out until it was way too late. So, you continued saving islands. At the same time, you tried to find a portal back to Earth. Like, when you went to Big Nate Island, and every other sponsored island, except Mystery of the Map Island, you actually flew your blimp into another thunderstorm, just to be transported to the wrong dimension. After you got the medallion, the medallion sent you back to Poptropica. Not Earth. You got confused, and even a little scared. Why was this happening?!? So, you tried Plan B. Traveling through time, using the machine you got from Time Tangled, to find out if something from the past put you in this strange land. At first, islands like Mystery Train, seemed to be real, something that could have happened on Earth. But later,     when you went to Astro-Knights Island, you saw technology. Technology so advanced, it wouldn’t have even excited today. Created by a man named Mordred. Who later became the Binary Bard. But Mordred, even though being the same person, looked totally different from his cyborg self. Come on, his skin was tan as Mordred, and pale as Binary Bard. Almost like they were different people. In fact, Mordred kind of looked similar to OCTAVIAN. However, you never thought that until years after. Anyway, sometime after that, you go to the future. Game Show Island. Where robots rule. But didn’t you save the future? Or did someone else cause this, along with Poptropica’s messed up timelines and locations, some of which happened on Earth? Octavian, that’s who.

And that ends your story. Octavian’s will be explained in detail tomorrow in Part 3, the Finale. See you then!

Theory/Story: Backstory Part 1

Lately, we have been getting hints that the Creators are going to reveal our Poptropican’s backstory. This could be on Skydock Island, (updated Home Island) the upcoming island for beginners, or something else. In fact, it might never happen, or it will be very short and boring.   Many people, such as Popular Wolf, think that you got your blimp from your long lost family. But, there might be a different story. One that’s probably not true, but could explain everything. Why do you travel island to island, each so different, and even in different time periods?

I think I may have an answer. A theory about it. No, a story about it. That is what I am going to share with you today. Just a quick note that sponsored islands don’t count. The Mystery of the Map Graphic Novel counts, and even plays a big role in this, but MotM Island doesn’t count, and never even happened. Well, here we go…

You are a random kid on one huge adventure. Even though each island is so different, they make up one story. Actually, they make up two stories.

The first story is the Story of Poptropica. Each island is telling the history and future of a mysterious world. One much like our own, but yet so very different.

And the second, more shocking story is the Story of YOU. Prepare yourselves-

Once upon a time you were a totally normal kid growing up in some random town on Earth, AKA the Real World. However, one day that changes. You somehow get transported to a strange world, Poptropica, when you rode a blimp into a thunderstorm. (Sound familiar? That’s what happened in Mystery of the Map. You’ll see why later.) In Poptropica, you ride your blimp above Home/Skydock Island, where you meet a pilot who loses his medallion and sends you on a quest to find it. After finding every shard, the Pilot allows you to keep it. But right before you leave, a strange man shows up. He tells you that his name is Octavian. Octavian gives you a map of all of the islands, and you start your quest to save all of the islands. However, there is something strange about Octavian, the map, and the medallion.

To be continued…

Stay tuned for Part 2 tommorrow!!!

Yeah, seriously not kidding. So basically everyone has to wear Baby Pandas on their head and go to the Arcade, or should I say Pathfinders common room, on Home Island. Jessica the Creator is there, probably along with other famous Poptropicans. However, this is at the totally wrong time. You see, Tall Cactus can’t go because she’s on vacation and can’t get on a computer, and has to blog about it on her phone. So yeah, I’m pretty mad about the timing. Oh well. I hope you guys have fun without me…

P.S.- Tommorrow better be the day. The day of a huge announcement. Please?!?

Photo Booth on the App!

I’m serious! You can now use the Photo Booth on the Poptropica app! After making a photo, you can save it to your device! Looks like your dream came true, Mad APPer. Plus, there are lots of exciting bug fixes! Except, it’s only for iOS right now. It should come out for Amazon and Android in hopefully a few days or a week or two. Well, that’s all for now. There’s still, like, no awesome huge announcements being made. Come on, Creators!

More Updates

I just wanted to make a quick posts about some blog updates and more. First, you might have noticed the Contact page. Now you can email me! I’ll eventually add a contact form, I just didn’t get to that yet. Also, I’m starting to work on a bunch of other pages- Comment Policy, Island Walkthroughs, and Petitions. These aren’t even close to being done, and it might take a few weeks. So that’s something else you can look forward to. Although the Island Walkthroughs might only be for the easiest islands and new islands.

Before I go, I also want to announce that I have just started editing the Poptropica Wiki. My name on it is Tallcactus or tallcactus. And you might see me on the PHC (Poptropica Help Chat) sometimes, along with the common rooms on Poptropica.

Well, that’s all for now, but hopefully later the Creators announce something on their blog. If they do, I’ll have you covered. Oh, and make sure to vote for the Ultimate Poptropica Island Showdown if you haven’t already.

Multiverse Party

Wow, I can’t believe that I’ve had this blog for a week now! It’s been so much fun, and I have a lot more planned for the future. Anyway, I’m kind of bored. So, I went and made a multiverse. It was going to be tonight, but the power might go out because of the snowstorm. The code is now EUB51. You can come if you want. It should be open for a couple hours or so. Hope you have fun:)

-Tall Cactus

UPDATE- The party has ended. I’ll probably do another one soon.

The Next Poptropica Island Revealed…

Yup. You heard it. The Creators just announced the next island. I wasn’t expecting this. I thought it would be in February. You know, the mysterious one I made theories about a few days ago? Well, I’m kind of, I’m not sure how to say this, but I’m pretty disappointed. One, they didn’t even announce the name. Two, it’s for BEGINNERS. Seriously? Isn’t Early Poptropica enough? That amazing plot line I came up with isn’t going to happen. Why? First of all, this island is SHORT. Not anything like Escape From Pelican Rock. So the plot line is probably going to be very, well, basic. Also, the Creators specifically stated that this island has “hilarious characters.” Not that I hate humor. It’s just that the funnier it gets, the story gets worse.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know about this. It’s not that I don’t think new Poptropicans should have an easy island to start out with, it’s just that I was really excited for this island. I thought it would be another Pelican Rock. And it’s not going to happen anytime soon. I’m guessing that this island is coming out in February, and there will be no early access period. It will probably just release to everyone at once. OK, I’m not so sure about that. Well, at least I’ll have a good chance of getting a top ten finish. At at least we have Skydock to look forward to. And that huge snowstorm coming. That will be fun…

Poptropica Book Ideas

As you all know, many books based on Poptropica have been released- the Stcker Book, Guide, Illustrated Novels based on different islands, etc. But other than the upcoming print version of Mystery of the Map coming out in March, Poptropica books haven’t been released in a few years. So, here are my ideas of books that I think should come out in the future.

Poptropica Comics- I’m surprised these haven’t been made into a book yet. I know they’re not done writing them, but they haven’t been updated in a while. This would be a great time to collect them and make a Volume 1.

More Books Based on Islands- I feel like the Creators (or whoever wrote the books) could go a long way with these. So far 4 have been released- Cryptids, Astro-Knights, Skullduggery, and Lunar Colony. I think they should make 4 more:

  • 24 Carrot Island
  • Counterfeit Island
  • Mythology Island

In the Super Villain Island book, all of the heroes in the previous books team up to make the villains they defeated good. Please do that, Creators!

An Updated Poptropica Guide- They should have made a new one a long time ago. There are so many new islands, now.

Do you guys have any book ideas? Share them in the comments!

Update- It seems like Mystery of the Map Island is getting a photo booth! Check out the latest sneak peak for proof.

-Tall Cactus

P.S.- I’m doing a lot of “idea” posts lately since the Creators aren’t really updating anything. Hopefully they’ll announce something tonight. If you haven’t noticed, the Creators almost always post at 3:00 or 8:00 Eastern Time on weekdays. If not, I wouldn’t expect any news until next week. Also, the Ultimate Poptropica Island Showdown starts this Sunday!
