New Pop News: The New Appearance of Poptropicans REVEALED

So, the other day, Skinny Moon posted about the recent winter updates on the Creators’ Blog. This imagine was included:

Seems pretty normal, right?

Take a closer look. Zoom in, and you’ll see.

I know what you’re thinking: New Pop. Yup, the Creators gave us a secret sneak peak of what the new Poptropican design may just look like. And I have to admit, some of my predictions were pretty accurate.

Let’s take an even closer look at this, and figure out what exactly makes these Poptropicans different than the ones that have been around since 2007.

image

  • colored pupils/eyes
  • no eyelashes on the girl?
  • feet, shoes
  • fingers, gloves
  • necks (look at the yellow circles)
  • detailed clothing
  • more realistic arms and legs
  • body more proportional? (not 100% sure on this)

To be honest, the new design isn’t too bad. Except for the fact that it looks like Our Discovery Island. And the eyes, those freaking eyes.

Is it just me, or would eyes like these look better?

Those colored pupils will forever be a pet peeve of mine…

Anyways, that’s one (probably) New Pop mystery solved! I’m calling it now, the next discovery better be the release date.

  1. There are no necks. If you look very closely, you can see that the boy’s head is disconnected to his body. Perhaps they just forgot about adding eyelashes in the picture.

  2. those eyes under “is it just me or do eyes like these look better ” kinda remind me of spongebob eyes xD . Anyhow , if that’s their appearance , I wonder how much their new appearance will affect gameplay
