News: Omegon’s Creation + A Theory on IOTM

Hey PoptropiPeeps! Yup, I am now combining Poptropicans and people/peeps to make the ultimate post intro.

Anyways, this post was rather interesting to say the least. Not only was it the first Creators’ Blog post of 2017, but it also revealed how Omegon came to be. No, not in-game backstory wise, but production wise. Apparently Omegon’s outfit was originally meant for Poptropolis Games, one of the IOTMs. Cue the pictures!

As a proud Yellowjacket, I suddenly am finding myself to actually kinda like Omegon for once. Before his creation was revealed, I just thought he was meh. And is it just me, or are there a lot of triangles in this robot’s attire? Is he secretly a part of the Poptropican Illumanti?

All jokes aside, Skinny Moon also mentioned that December’s Islands of the Month will continue to be featured till the end of today, which is when the #MyPoptropicaCostume contest ends as well. Enter if you haven’t!

But here’s the thing. Since it’s already January, and New Pop must be coming soon…will there even be IOTMs for this month? For 2017? Only time will tell, but I feel that it all depends on New Pop.

Basically, I think they will stop doing IOTMs once the New Pop finally comes out. I give it a 50/50 chance that there will be one for January, because of all the costume contest winners being announced and the possibility of some New Pop news. If there isn’t much New Pop new though, I’d say there is a good chance at some final Islands of the Month. Maybe the whole reason they started featuring certain islands is to say goodbye to the current Poptropica, I’m not sure.
