OK, so first of all, I didn’t post yesterday because I was kinda busy…fine, I’ll admit it! I didn’t post because I just didn’t feel like it. Every blogger has those days, don’t they? So, the third New Pop post will be next Tuesday instead. Sorry…
Anyways, today I have a rather random, but interesting, post for all of you. Most of you know how I first played Poptropica in March 2015, right? Well, it turns out that wasn’t the first time I heard of the game…
One day sometime in the fall of 2013, I heard that a new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book was coming out! I don’t know why, but I got super hyped over Hard Luck. Don’t ask, I was even weirder than I am now back then. Because of this hype, I decided to go over to Funbrain and read the original web version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (you can read it for yourself here. It may seem like the printed version at first, but trust me, it’s different, and WAY longer). I just read it every night, same old thing, but remember: this was in 2013. Long before Funbrain got that huge update that removed many of the ads. That meant that there were Pop ads everywhere. One was for Poptropolis Games 2013, which I liked to look at, and the other was for…Virus Hunter. So no surprise I didn’t click on any of the ads, as the Virus Hunter ad just grossed me out and stopped me from clicking on the Poptropolis one.
About a week later, I gave up on reading it, and I discovered the official Wimpy Kid website. I watched and re-watched the trailers for each book, and all that kind of stuff. But then I came across THIS:
You should know which one I clicked on, this is a Poptropica blog after all! It led me to this:
I had landed right on Pop’s website, I could have started playing in 2013 and not 2015!
That didn’t happen, sadly. Instead I went right to this:
I got really obsessed with Wimpy Boardwalk’s trailer, don’t ask why. This didn’t make me want to play the game, though, so I just looked it up on Youtube…
Yes, the first ever Thinknoodles video I ever watched. Yet it made me very embarrassed, so after that I forgot about Poptropica for a long time…by a long time I mean a year and a half.
Now that I actually play Poptropica, things have changed. I don’t really like Wimpy Kid that much anymore, even though I do buy all the new books when they release, I found out the Wimpy Kid islands are some of the worst in the game, and Thinknoodles is now one of my favorite Youtubers.
And that’s my untold story, folks. See you again in my next post!
