Vacation and Island Review Update

Hey guys, TC here. Following the excitement of the first Pop TV episode, I have a couple updates to share, as you saw in the title.

Yup, I’m once again going on vacation. I’m leaving on Saturday, I think, and I will be gone for about a week. However, unlike the vacation I went on back in June, I will NOT be inactive. I figured out that you can just write posts ahead of time and schedule them to be published whenever you want, so I’ll be doing that. That means I’ll be working hard these next few days to write more episodes of the fan fic and some theories for you guys to enjoy next week. That also means that unplanned posts, like any breaking news over on the Creators’ Blog, may not be covered until days after it happens. Or it may be posted about right away if it’s at the perfect time. Or it may not be covered at all, it all depends on how important it is. But don’t worry, this blog will still be as active as usual.

Oh, and I’ll still be on Discord, but I may be a tad more inactive, it all depends on how busy I am. I thought I wouldn’t I wouldn’t be active last time, yet I end up being on there for hours each day.

And then there are the Island Reviews. It is Sunday, if you live in the US like me, that is, so there should have been a review today, right? Well…

Island Reviews are no longer a weekly series.

Yeah, I’m really sorry about this, but it’s not like they’re cancelled or anything. It’s just that they will be posted whenever I feel like it, and there won’t be a schedule of any sort. For example, there could be a month where five reviews are posted, and the next month there could be none.

The reason I’m doing this is because island reviews take very, very long for me to right. Even longer than a theory. It’s not easy to either, you gotta find the perfect words to describe some of the islands, and some are just hard to have a strong opinion about. And, I don’t know, I just don’t really enjoy doing them that often, let alone every week. Plus, two other blogs are doing island reviews as a series, too. Oh well.

Again, I’m sorry about this, but it was my only choice. See you on Wednesday for Episode 2 of Pop TV!

I still can’t believe my blog, one that’s run by just one author and has only been around for a little more than 6 months, has won such a big award. It means so, so much to me. You Asked, I Answered (Q&A with TC)

Let’s get this thing started, no need for an explanation if you read the title!

Lucky Joker asks: How long have you been playing Poptropica and is Tall Cactus your original account?

TC: This was originally two separate questions but I combined them since they fit together so nicely. I discovered Pop over the course of a few days in late March 2015, which totals to about a year and four months of playing. And unlike most Poptropicans, I’ve only ever had one main account, which means that Tall Cactus has been with me since the beginning.

Lucky Joker asks: What are some of your hobbies?

TC: Does laying in bed all day playing on electronics count as a hobby? Just kidding, that’s only during summer break. AKA right now. During the school year I like reading and hanging out with friends and all sorts of stuff!

Purple Claw asks: Can you tell us a very few things about your new fan-fiction?

TC: If you want a few, then here are a few, literally!

1. It’s totally different than Totem Curse, they are two totally different stories and have nothing to do with each other. For example in Pop TV Black Widow and Dr. hare are NOT related, well biologically at least.
2. I have to admit, the first episodes suck, but don’t worry, it will get better by the end of season 1. 🙂
3. There is a season 1 episode based on Water Thrill Island, an island idea that was created, just to be abandoned. Everyone found out about it when the Creators tweeted about it long ago.

Ultimate iPad Expert: If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?

Lucky Wing: Could you describe yourself? In personality?

TC: I always have a hard time finding the right words to describe myself, I have no clue why. I’ll try though. I would say that I’m funny, smart, brave, creative, and a little stubborn and jealous sometimes. We all have flaws, don’t we?

But I’m not forgetting about you, UiPE. If I had to describe myself in one word, I’d say that I am unique.

Cuddly Knuckle: What’s your favorite island on Pop?

Ultimate iPad Expert: If you had to rename your blog, what would you change it to?

TC: This is a tough one. I’d probably name it PopBLOGica or BLOGtropica, which were my two original names back in January, but then I found two dead blogs with the same names, so I had to just name it was it is today since I had no other ideas.

Lucky Wing: Do you look like your Poptropican?

TC: Kinda, the hair is a bit too blonde though. Dirty blonde hair looks green on Pop, so I had no choice.

Cuddly Brain: Where did you get your signature outfit from? PS I really like it.

TC: I got the pants, shirt, and scarf from exploring different islands, the lips from an ASG, and the earrings from the Oop Star costume in the story. Also, thanks!

And that wraps up the last question, folks. I may do another Q&A in a few months, probably about the Pop TV series however, since by then it should be in full swing.

In other news, it’s true, my blog won the Best Active Blog award in the Poppies! Thank you to everyone who voted for me, it means a lot. And sorry to those reading on ECC…

Why I Don’t Post About Ads (Or the App)

That moment when you realize that you said in your last post that you weren’t going to post again till next week… but then you post for the second time that same day.

Hey guys, TC here for the second time today. I just wanted to make a quick post explaining something important, that being why I don’t nearly post about “news” as often as many other Poptropica bloggers do. We need to start on what my definition of Pop “news” even is.

Q&A With Tall Cactus!

Today is a lovely summer (well, winter if you live in Australia or something) Thursday, which means it is time for another…

…Q&A?!

I know, I know, you guys and gals were all expecting a theory, I was too. But last night, right after watching the new Steven Universe episode on TV, I suddenly came up with the idea for a Q&A session, something I haven’t done yet, something to switch the schedule up before Pop TV starts releasing.

Pop TV: Story, Characters and More

‘Ello Fan-Tropicans, TV is back for another fan fic post only like 6 hours after the original one, just like I said.

Anyways, I just wanted to do this post to explain the things about Poptropica: The TV Series that I didn’t get time for earlier today. This includes the story, some of the main characters, differences from the game, and how New Pop will affect the series, as it most likely will come out before season 3 starts.

Lets start with the story…

Announcing…

…the awesome, epic, action-packed, funny, and adventurous new fan fiction by yours truly…

…DRUMROLL PLEASE…

…*drumroll*…

Poptropica: The TV Series!!! 

Crowd: *gasps*

And it’s not even going to be animated, cause I can’t draw very well and it would take too long!!! Oh, and PW’s movie.

Crowd: Awww…

No no no, don’t jump to conclusions just yet. Even though the title is boring and so is the concept, and it just being a bunch of transcripts instead of an actual animation, I promise you that this series is going to be really cool and interesting.

Well, not the first few episodes, of course, as most cartoons are like that, aren’t they?

Anyways, let’s just get onto the juicy info now, shall we?

First of all, there will be three seasons. Each season will have 26 episodes. New episodes will be released twice a week, though some weeks may have more or less becausee of special occasions. Which means that this series will last, if it doesn’t get cancelled, which it won’t unless I quit blogging altogether, a total of 39 weeks. Sprinkle in a few hiatuses between seasons and busyness in real life, and you get a series that could last nearly a YEAR. So yeah, this is going to last much, much longer than Totem Curse, and since I’m writing parts of it ahead of time, I won’t be rushing to get out new episodes on time.

As for the format of each episode, it will be like a transcript, which is a thing used in movies/TV Shows/games, you name it, that shows what each character says and does. For example:

Bob: We have a test in school tomorrow. And I didn’t study cause I keep playing Pokemon Go too much!

(Runs around in circles in a panic.)

Bob: You know what? I’ll just fake sick and skip school so I can study!

(The next day, Bob fakes a fever by splashing hot water on his face and his mom believes him.)

Mom: You better rest in bed, young man.

(When his mom isn’t looking, Bob sneaks outside to play Pokemon Go, but it’s really cold outside.)

(Bob makes it inside just in time and climbs back into bed right before his mom comes into the room to check his temp again.)

Mom: Your temperature is normal, you weren’t sick at all! And, I know you went outside, I’m smarter than I look. You’re going to school. And you’re grounded for 2718393…years.

Bob: Darn it.

(Bob makes it to school just in time for the test, which he ends up copying someone’s paper and gets an F for cheating. Worst part, he can’t even play Pokemon Go because his phone was taken away.)

THE END

So yeah, that’s your average movie/TV/game transcript right there.

As for the actual fan fic, I’m not going to give any hints to the plot just yet. You’ll see on July 30th, when the first episode comes out. Actually, never mind that. I will release another post later tonight about the story, as this post is getting a bit long.

You may just remember that I had originally planned for this “Mysterious Upcoming Fan Fiction” to be officially announced (like its name and stuff) on July 30th and for it to start releasing on August 3rd.

Well, that is going to change a little bit.

With New Pop approaching closer and closer everyday, I’m actually going to try to get this series up and running as soon as possible. That’s why the first episode will now come out on July 30th, and you will find out all sorts of info about it in a post that will be released…
